  1. I have a check engine light installed, does it work with the key on/key off 3 times? I did that and no light. I have a homemade smoke tester, will test for vacuum leaks, dont have power brakes so that's not the problem. I replaced the o2 sensor thinking it was the likely culprit, but no change. The EFI kit doesn't have a connector for my ob1/ob2 tester, so how can I check fuel trim? is there a way to find pin at ECM for fuel trim and backfeed to test. Thanks
  2. I have a 258 with the mopar conversion kit. I am having up and down idle when it first starts. after the warm up cycle, the idle seems fine! sometimes the idle will go up and then almost stall then it does this cycle again and again til warm up. I have replaced IAC, checked the MAP, IAT and TPS and they all test good. The only sensor left is the coolant sensor. I did check resistance and it seemed ok, but did not replace it. I am leaning towards a vacuum leak, but have not found any. any help would be appreciated. As a side note, after running jeep for 45 minutes, it had a small backfire when slowing down near my house. Seems like engine may be running lean.
  3. Thanks again, yes my donor vehicle has the speed sensor that you talk about. stay safe and look me up if ever visiting Kauai Hawai.
  4. Thank you so much for the diagrams!! I still have the 4.2l canister, so it will be easy to apply a vacuum source from the manifold to complete the system. Thanks again. on a side note, does .035 gap for plugs sound right? I will need to buy a manual for the 1994/95 wrangler for tune up info. Thanks
  5. thanks for the info, I have the earlier 60 pin computer with two rail fuel system. I did find a Hesco pdf that says to take one line off the intake manifold to the canister. I guess it needs vacuum to work?
  6. I have just installed a 4.2l with the Mopar EFI system. engine runs pretty good, but don't know where to hook up evaporations canister. I have a line that goes from valve cover to cone type air cleaner then to evaporations canister. have another line that goes to gas tank. have two other fittings on canister, not sure where they go? any help would be appreciated. As background info, I have a 1985 cj7 that came with the 4 cylinder. removed engine and found used vehicle with 4.2l with mopar efi and T-176 transmision. Fairly easy install using the used jeep parts.
