  1. Latest email from Jeep..... Seems they want to reengineer their own solution and take months about it whilst still leaving us all hanging. Idiots of the first order. They obviously don't have spin doctors managing thee image which is currently wriggling through the gutter! "Thank you for your further email. We are working with our colleagues in the US in regard to suitable tow bar. Having not tested the Tow Trust tow bar ourselves we are unable to comment on its suitability for this recall campaign. However, I will pass this information onto our Technical Department for them to review. Kind Regards,
  2. Thank you all for standing up for what's right. I can sleep easy knowing that there is a solution now so personally I'm going to enjoy Christmas and New Year then get me a new tow bar. I still hold Jeep/Chrysler/Fiat wholly accountable and they have my ongoing mistrust and dislike until such time as they make good the mess they have created. Merry Christmas to you all.
  3. Janet Fiat may not want to be accountable but they can kiss goodbye to 30,000+ potential future customers because will you ever buy from them now? This may not be of their making but they get to reap the benefits of poor design compounded by poor customer service/management.
  4. I will buy direct if I need to but I have emailed Fiat on my case reference for a response to this development. I'm Not prepared to have an illegal solution or no tow bar so I just need to find who in Somerset can fit this new tow bar. I'm tempted to desert the Jeep dealership I use but it's not their fault we've been given this nightmare to navigate so I'm undecided on that. Massive thanks to Tow Trust for delivering a solution. Much appreciated.
  5. Thank you Paul and Janet and thank you Facebook and Forums for enabling us to unite during this difficult time. Keep posting and we'll keep following:-)
  6. Hi all. Joined tonight. Another victim of Jeep's incompetence. I have a case number and an email saying they're reviewing the situation. No recognition of the fact they're breaching the sale of goods contract we entered into when buying our towing vehicles. I also have a case with citizens advice but no news on that avenue yet. This recall is like selling a soft top car then disabling the roof lowing mechanism as it is unsafe to drive with the roof down, or with a stereo rhat the cut the power to as it's unsafe. It is complete BS and I really want to swear now! Interesting reading through this thread and I hope Paul you do have a way forward because I like probably most of us cannot afford to just go buy another car.
