You can mount a fuel cell/can or a variety of useful tools on these racks. They attach to the spare tire, so if you want to use your stock spare tire and tailgate mount, this might be a solution. No rack is intended for carrying exposed fuel cans (metal or plastic) on the highway. The Bugout Rack has the usual off-road use disclaimer.
