Transfer case swap questions, 1967 F100 4x4/4 speed

Recommended Posts

I've got a 67 F100 4x4, with 352, 4 spd, and Dana 20 'in and out'.  I'd like to put the divorced 205 into the truck that I have on hand, but don't want to keep it as a divorced case, that is, I'd like to convert it so that it mounts to the transmission.  I would imagine that the input bearing, shaft would need to be swapped, but has anyone else done such a thing, and what is needed to get it done?

Good to see your post Rocket Doctor!  Ah, a Dana 21 single speed power divider?    There would be input shaft, bearing and other pieces involved with mating an NP205 directly to the transmission's output adapter.  I'll do some part number and interchange research.  Transmission output spline count could be an issue.

Would it be easier to find a non-divorced NP205 from a Dodge, GM or later '70s Ford F-truck application?  Even easier to install a Dana 20 unit from a '77-back Bronco?

I'll answer your question directly...
