just recently bought a '76 In scout II with the 304 V-8 and was driving down the road and the front driver's side brake started to seize up. previous to that I had it parked on an incline and set the emergency brake. I believe something happened when applying the brake and I am not too familiar with these trucks other than them being really cool. are there any "tricks" I can don't to trouble shoot or things that I should look at when trying to fix. I thinking maybe bleed the brake lines and start over with new pads and fluids. any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm excited to share the latest development from Cummins and Advance Adapters: the R2.8L Cummins Repower diesel crate engine conversion for Jeep® and other 4x4s! At the 2016 SEMA Show, Steve Roberts (Advance Adapters) and Steve Sanders (Cummins Repower program) detailed the engine conversion and discuss highlights of this high tech diesel engine in our HD video interview. In the video, you'll discover why I'm so pleased with this development. The initial Cummins Repower focus is 50-State legal emission status for vehicles through 1999, which will include Jeep® CJ, XJ, ZJ, WJ and vint

I have a 1973 Scout II that I had front drum brake and converted them to disk. I did not install a power booster, and installed a new stock master cylinder. the problem I am up against is I have no peddle at all. I am wondering if I should purchase a master for a 1974 scout II with disk brakes cause the reservoir for the front brakes is bigger in that master or any one have any suggestions or have ran into the same problem as I am having? thanks

There are some very good I-H truck and Scout/Scout II forums online! So, why would you want to join this one? Well, for one thing, here's an opportunity to start a forum from the ground up, to build the kind of dialogue you like, and to know that there's oversight with credible, well-researched facts! I have been a staunch I-H truck guy from early-on, having grown up in ranching country with an I-H dealership at its hub. I know I-H trucks and the Scout from its earliest, slant-four models. I even know the quirks and foibles of that earlier technology! As a footnote, many matur

So as a kid (17-23) my family owned a garden center/landscape company. One of our farm trucks was a 1973 international 1210 4-door 4WD pick up. We changed out the automatic transmission with a 5 speed out of a scout I believe. We installed a dually kit on the rear and added a stake body. Over the years I grew very attached to it and was devastated when my father told me that he had sold it. Well surprise! Dad bought it back 10 years later as a gift for me to restore. I have more memories tied up in that truck than are probably healthy. I am looking forward to that truck being my first restora

For anyone looking for info on the I-H Scout, Scout II, and Travelall, a good source of info, according to a couple family members, is Super Scout. According to their website, http://www.superscoutspecialists.com/store/default.aspx, they are specialists in all of the I-H vehicles, and according to a couple family members, they are extremely knowledgable and helpful. Another site, that may or may not be able to get body parts, is http://www.lkqcorp.com/us/en/auto-light-truck-parts/aftermarket-parts-by-keystone.aspx. They are LKQ corporation, owners of Keystone aftermarket body parts. I have

My first exposure to I-H trucks was at Carson Valley, Nevada in the early 'sixties. The slant four-cylinder 152 (later the 196) models were all over Carson Valley, an adjunct to the popular I-H light 4x4 trucks and cultivating equipment. Ranchers valued the reliability and ease of service on these light-duty trucks and other I-H equipment. The local I-H dealer did a brisk business... By the late 'sixties, as a truck fleet mechanic, I had charge of several I-H trucks and did minor and major repairs and maintenance on them, including a vintage dump truck with an RD406 gas inline engine and s
