I am trying to find the cause of a rich running engine, and I'm running out of ideas of what to do next. History: Wife bought me and my son this Jeep sight unseen a few months back for us to fix up. 213,000 miles Initial engine problems identified: Heavy exhaust smell, cracked exhaust manifold, Clogged CCV valves with oil bypass in air filter. Overall the jeep runs great other than the strong exhaust smell and bluish smoke from exhaust pipe. No noticeable power difference from other wrangler 4.0s i've driven. Hi Moses; Hey,on a 22R,what's the deal on milling the head? I think this engine might have a head gasket leak from #2 to #3 cylinders. It isn't transferring any fluids,doesn't show signs of leakage outside,but 2 and 3 seem to falter until about 2000 rpm,where it smooths out,but still lacks enough power to pull 5th gear with any degree of authority. Hey, Moses, I've been watching your xr650r videos. I was wondering how much psi you input into your snap-on device to perform your leak down test on your motorcycle engine. Would too much air force the piston down in the cylinder, open the valves, etc? I'm looking at doing a leak-down test on my bike soon and thinking the whole process through. Thanks!
