  1. Good Morning, I'm hoping you can provide some insight into an issue on a truck I'm considering buying. I have not seen the truck first hand so my description of the problem is based on the seller's account. It's a 1991 F350 7.5L automatic. I think it has 159,000 miles. The seller says that the transmission will "chatter" when shifting between 2nd and 3rd at low RPM. If he increases the RPM, the noise goes away. Also, if he turns off the overdrive, the noise is gone. He said he had the fluid and filter changed and was told by the shop he took it to that it's not worth rebuilding/trying to fix until it becomes a bigger problem. I guess if turning off the overdrive makes the noise go away, then that could be a temporary solution. I'd rather have the overdrive working though. Does this sound like something that would need to be addressed immediately? Is more damage going to be done if it's driven with this condition? It's a pretty decent looking truck for its age but I don't know that it's nice enough for me to buy and then have to spend time/money on a major transmission overhaul. Thank you very much for your help!
