This is my latest project, that i am hoping wont take as long as the other ones have, but probably will.

I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, as they say, and not only do all the mechanical, but the body work and paint at the same time. 3 weeks into the project, and so far, i have the engine and transmission out, the body apart, the bed, hood and fenders primered, the top end of the engine off, and stripped the old transmission. All i have to say is, if anyone ever plans to do this much work, plan on it taking at least 3 times longer than expected. Also, never try and do 2 vehicles at once, unless you can afford to let them sit for long periods of time. I decided to not only do the 1994, but the body work, paint, and engine on the 1995, as well as gut the wrecked 1993 and strip the 1991 for parts. My wife now seriously thinks i am insane.

An update on this truck. I decided to go with all stock, daily driver for this one, and do a little light towing with it. The reason being, i have recently picked up a couple more second gen Dakotas, one of which is already lifted, has lockers, winches front and rear, as well as a v-8 upgrade (5.9), and had the transmission beefed up for off road use. Unfortunately, it was wrecked, which is how i ended up with it, and as a result, the frame was severely bent. After doing some re-evaluating on the 1991 i have, the lifted 1993 i picked up is in better shape body wise, so i am going to use the frame, core support, and inner and outer fenders from the 1991, and rebuild the 1993 to play in the mud and sand with. I also picked up a 1994 parts truck, that has a blown engine, but good trans and and other parts, that i am going to scavenge what i can from to finish both the lifted 1993, and my green 1994. i wont be doing either until the spring, but i will be posting pics of the rebuild on the lifted truck, as i get things done on it. Hopefully things go as smoothly with that build as they did with the 1991.

This one wont have any modifications at all until next spring. Since i bought it in march of this year, i have been mostly concerned with fixing the minor and major mechanical issues. The woods in the background in this pic are right off my step dads back yard, and comprise of nearly 200 acres, mostly woods and a small (10 acre) corn field off to one side.

Ah, Biggman100, we've heard a lot about this truck...I can see how this serves a family's needs in this wooded region of New York State. Thanks for posting the photos!

You can add more images of the Dodge Dakotas and your other vehicles, plus modifications with images! OHVs like your tracked Grizzly are unique and impressive, too...and the fantastic scenery in your neck of the woods!

Thanks for breaking the ice on the new 'Tech and Travel' Forums member photo gallery...
